Hello everyone, I hope this message finds you well. As we move through November, I wanted to share a quick round-up of what’s been happening across our local area, what’s coming up, and how we’re working together to keep our community safe and thriving. 🔍 Local Priorities Our current focus areas include: Speeding across all wards Theft from new build developmentsRetail thefts We are planning further speed watches – obviously, we won’t be sharing when/where these are in advance. We are continuing to patrol new build development sites and work is ongoing to identify offenders. The team continues to gather evidence for shop lifting offences so that we can make the arrests and obtain convictions where possible. 🤝 Partnership Working We’ve met with: Citizen housing and the residents on Sadler Road, Bulwer Road, Dingle Close and Packington Avenue to discuss issues. MP Taiwo Owatemi also joined us on some of the residential visits and we were able to give her an insight into our team’s daily activities. Citizen housing to arrest an individual for breaching his civil injunction that Citizen Housing had obtained. This led to a temporary eviction whilst the court case is ongoing. The team have been working with retailers at the Alvis Retail Shopping Centre to obtain information and formulate a plan to reduce ASB. Firework retailers to remind them not to sell to children – we’ve since had information that one store has sold to children, so the team will be following this up. 📅 Important Dates 19/11/25 – residents meeting for Mossdale Close – 7pm – venue TBD 20/11/25 – PACT meeting at Coundon Social Club – 6pm-7pm 06/12/25 – PACT meeting at Daimler Green Community Centre – 4pm-5pm 13/01/25 – PACT meeting at Keresley Parish – 7pm-8pm PACT meetings give you an opportunity to pop along and meet some of your local neighbourhood team. You can raise issues, share information and ask questions. 🗞️ Round-Up from the team: The team have seized several vehicles this month due to the drivers not holding the right vehicle documents such as insurance. Sadly, one of the officers was assaulted by a suspect who ran from a vehicle stop and resisted arrest for a drug offence. The suspect has since been charged. The team have continued to conduct stop searches in our ASB/drug hotspots. One of your officers spotted someone trying to conceal plates which turned out to be stolen from a charity shop – these were swiftly returned. An individual was arrested for breaching his community protection notice due to continuing to call the police for no valid reason – in one month he called us approx. 70 times! One of your officers located a suspect who was wanted for some serious offences, despite the suspect trying to give false details! Stay safe and take care, Sgt Wilson.
